I like surprises, especially delicious ones that are unexpected, and this small serving of granola, yogurt, and fruit is exactly that. Sweetened granola with a few small berries sit atop tangy, creamy yogurt. It's a perfect small bite to start a meal, end a meal, or refresh your palate as you dine.
This yogurt shooter was inspired by an amazingly delicious breakfast my husband and I had at a cafe called "maZe nishihorie" in the Nishi ward in Osaka, Japan.
Nestled on the plate between the French toast and a garden salad was a shot glass of Greek yogurt topped with granola and goji berries. It was a wonderful surprise that I saved for the end of my breakfast, while my husband had his at the beginning. We absolutely loved it, and I think you will too!
So, let's cook!
Ingredient Notes
Here's everything you'll need to make these yogurt parfait shooters. Please see the recipe card for the exact quantities.

- Greek Yogurt - Whole milk and unsweetened is best.
- Honey Granola - Use a honey oat granola or your favorite sweetened granola.
- Fresh Berries - Small berries work best. Blueberries and raspberries are good choices. You can also use dried goji berries and dried cranberries.
Substitutions & Variations
- Thin the Yogurt. Use a tablespoon of heavy cream or half-and-half to thin the yogurt if it is too thick.
- Substitute Vanilla Greek Yogurt. Less tart and also delicious.
- Substitute Other Dried Fruits. Consider dried Goji berries, cranberries, currants, raisins, and cherries.
- Add Nuts. Chopped walnuts, pecans, or almonds are great choices.
Flavor Variations
- Vanilla yogurt + strawberries
- Peach yogurt + raspberries
- Lemon yogurt + blueberries
- Fall version - apple pie filling + cinnamon granola
How to Make Yogurt Parfait Shooters

- Step 1: Stir Yogurt. In a small bowl, whisk or stir the Greek yogurt until it is loosened.

- Step 2: Fill Glasses. Add the Greek yogurt to small 2-ounce shot glasses.

- Step 3: Top with Granola. Spoon a layer of granola on top of the yogurt.

- Step 4: Finish with Berries and Granola. Complete the shooters with a berry or two and the remaining granola. For a layered parfait look, alternate yogurt, granola, and berries in the glasses, then finish with a topping.

We love making these when friends come over for brunch. The glasses can be filled the night before, and toppings added just before our guests arrive to keep the granola crunchy. We also like to layer the parfaits in advance and then add crunchy granola just before serving. There are so many ways to enjoy these!
