Lemon Cream Fluff is perfectly balanced with tangy lemon and creamy sweetness, making it a crowd favorite for any occasion.

For this light and refreshing fluff, I've mixed Greek yogurt, lemon jello, Cool Whip, and mini marshmallows to create a refreshing, tangy lemon dessert salad with the creaminess of whipped topping.

Containing small pops of miniature marshmallows, this lemon fluff is a perfect balance of flavors and textures.

Why We Love Lemon Cream Fluff

    • Only 4 Ingredients.
    • Quick and Easy to Make – a 10-Minute Recipe.
    • Sweet, Creamy, But Not Too Sweet.
    • A Perfect Dessert or Potluck Salad.

    About This Recipe

Fluff dessert salads are popular due to their simplicity, amazing flavor, and versatility. They are always a welcome addition to any potluck or celebration table.

This fluff dessert/salad is typical in its components as all fluff recipes contain the following ingredients to create a base:

    • Dairy (cream cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt, or sour cream).
    • Fruit Flavored Jell-O gelatin or any flavor of pudding mix.
    • Frozen Whipped Topping.

After the base is made, various sweet, savory, or crunchy ingredients are stirred in. Typical choices are:

    • Fruit (canned, fresh, or thawed frozen).
    • Mini-Marshmallows or Large Marshmallows cut into bits.
    • Pretzels, Crunchy Breakfast Cereal, or Cookies.
    • Small Candies and Chocolates

This Lemon Cream Fluff recipe is very similar to my Mandarin Orange Fluff as it contains Jello instead of a pudding mix. The only stir-ins are mini marshmallows, which give texture to the fluff mousse and add to the vanilla cream flavor.

The simplicity of a creamy lemon flavor makes it super versatile so that it can be paired with so many flavors stirred in or used as a garnish, like raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and also crushed or mini Oreo cookies. Doesn't this sound delicious? Awesome!

    So, let's cook!

    Ingredient Notes

Lemon Cream Fluff Ingredients, clockwise from top left: plain Greek yogurt, lemon jello, mini marshmallows, and Cool Whip.

Here's what you need to make this Lemon Cream Fluff:

    • Plain Greek Yogurt - Greek yogurt is tangy and keeps this dessert from being too sweet. It also gives a small boost of protein.
    • Lemon Jello - You only need one small 3-ounce package. I always use Jello brand gelatin, which gives reliable results in every dish.
    • Cool Whip - Cool Whip is a frozen whipped topping that is stable. It lightens puddings and gelatins and gives a creamy vanilla flavor.
    • Mini Marshmallows - Mini marshmallows give small pops of sweetness and texture to this lemon fluff dessert.

    Garnishes:

    • Cool Whip or Whipped Cream, Fresh Raspberries, Crushed Oreo Cookies, Mint Leaves

Please see the recipe card for the exact quantities.

Process Photo 3a - Mini marshmallows added to the lemon fluff mixture and ready to be folded in.
Process Photo 3b - Mini marshmallows have been folded into the lemon fluff.

Fold. Fold in the mini marshmallows.

Refrigerate and Serve. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the lemon cream fluff dessert for at least 2 hours.

If desired, garnish each serving with a dollop of Cool Whip or whipped cream, raspberries or crushed Oreo cookies, and some fresh mint leaves.

    My Top Tips

♡ After mixing the Greek yogurt with the lemon Jello, let the mixture sit for 5 minutes to allow the gelatin to completely dissolve into the yogurt.

    Substitutions & Variations

    • Substitute Fruit Flavored Mini Marshmallows. Instead of using vanilla mini marshmallows, you can add Mini Fruity Fun Marshmallows for small pops of pastel color and their fruit flavors.
    • Substitute Sour Cream. You can use sour cream in place of all or some of the plain Greek Yogurt.
    • Use Any Flavor of Jello. Instead of lemon, experiment with your favorite flavor of Jello gelatin.

    Make-Ahead & Storage Instructions

    • Make-Ahead: You can make this Lemon Cream Fluff the night before. Store it in a bowl with cling wrap or an airtight covered container.
    • Storage: It will keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
