Strawberry Almond Chiffon Cake Story

If you love strawberry shortcake you will love this chiffon cake covered in whipped cream cheese frosting with strawberries.

• egg whites • cream of tartar • cake flour • sugar  • baking powder • salt • cooking oil • egg yolks • cold water • vanilla extract • almond extract

Beat egg whites with cream of tartar until stiff peaks form. Set aside for later.

Sift the dry ingredients into a large bowl. Make a well and add the cooking oil, egg yolks, cold water, vanilla extract and almond extract.

Beat until smooth and ribbons of batter fall from a spoon or spatula.

Fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites just until they are blended into the egg yolk batter.

Pour the batter into a large tube pan and bake. Let the cake cool completely.

Make the frosting by beating together cream cheese, sugar, flavorings and whipped topping.
